MODRATEC has developed this range of WIT Products (wire-in-tube) to help those who decide to connect devices to their MODRATEC Interlocked Lever Frames using mechanical linkages. Point-wit, Sig-wit, Slot-wit, Link-wit and Crank-wit are mechanisms uniquely designed by MODRATEC.

WIT Products by MODRATEC

For clever and reliable 'wire-in-tube' mechanical control of points and signals, without the traditional headaches.

Rationale

Mechanical control using the wire-in-tube method is not new. But MODRATEC has developed its range of WIT Products with the aim of eliminating the headaches that have traditionally been associated with this form of control.

  • The performance of our WIT Control is not affected by temperature.
  • There is no need for precision adjustment of linkages.
  • It is simple to operate across baseboard joins.
  • It is simple to fix the danger and clear positions of semaphores.
  • It is simple to 'slot' signals.

And the traditional benefits of WIT Control remain.

  • It is very affordable.
  • It is easily understood - you can see what is going on.
  • You have direct control over the speed of operation of points and signals.
  • It is quiet.
  • It is robust.

Data Sheets in PDF Format

General guidance on WIT Control is available on this Data Sheet (updated 15 Aug 07). Individual Data Sheets, as supplied with each product, can be accessed by clicking the 'Data' links in the table below.

Slot-wit is a mechanical "logic" gate which allows signals to be slotted (operated by more than one lever/frame). Slot-wit can provide the logical AND or OR function. See the Data Sheet for the 2-input Slot-wit to learn how to control 3-position semaphores.

My Modratec lever frame for Dachsbauten station has been finished today. There had been absolutely no problems while building it. The Construction Manual had been of great help.... (Christoph)
