INTERLOCKING TABLE FILE and Windows Notepad

Post by modadmin »

People who write an ITF using Notepad on later versions of Windows may discover that when they save their file as filename.itf, it in fact appears in SigScribe4's file selection window as filename.itf.txt . This is because Notepad, on later versions of Windows, by default will save all files with .txt added. Furthermore, it hides the .txt extension.

SigScribe4 will not recognise such a file and flags an error.

It is difficult to easily remove the unwanted extension.

So, the solution is this:

When saving an ITF that has been generated using Notepad, enclose the desired file name in quotes, for example "filename.itf" so that the file is saved with the name and extension that you expect.
