Electro-mechanical Locks

Post by caedave »

Is it possible to fit electro-mechanical locks to the interlocking as in the "Released by Line Clear" or "Locked/Released by Track Curcuit **" requirements?

In principle, yes, although we don't have a formal design at this stage. One possibility would be to utilise some of the tappets to be driven by solenoids/motors instead of by levers. With a bit of ingenuity, it should be possible to incorporate the required interlocking logic into the SigScribe4 design by providing "fake" devices with the appropriate locking requirements. For example, to emulate a "line clear", an unconnected FPL lever included when defining the route would do the job.

Other thoughts welcome.
