Intalling lever into the MODRATEC frame
I have just finished installing 30 levers in the frame for Ken's Crossing. What a fiddly job it is putting the springs and steel balls in place. You were not wrong in the manual when you state that "you need to be in a mood of patient concentration for this step". I modified Tool 3 by fili...

Spare levers
Thanks Tony
I have very fond memories of "Manuka", an HO layout which featured protoype style interlocking and crossing gates. At the time, it looked far too complex to achieve without specialist knowledge. MODRATEC now allows us mere ordinary mortals to achieve something similar.

Aluminium Tools in MODRATEC Lever Frame Kits.
When I purchased the kit, 3 aluminium tools are supplied for the marking of hole locations and subsequent hole drilling. I also purchased the pen from MODRATEC to mark the tools. While the pen supplied did a good job on brass items, I found that the aluminium was too smooth on the surface and the in...

Mounting of MODRATEC lever frames
In the MODRATEC Construction manual, it is suggested that a cut out be made in the baseboard. The previous post gives dimensions of the cutout. I believe the majority of modellers will not have the spare "real estate" to accommodate the frame in this manner. In our installation of the fram...

Spare Levers
Does anyone know, in Australian practice, particularly in Victoria, what colour spare levers were painted? Some signal boxes (towers in USA) were commissioned with spare levers while others had spares as a result of track simplification etc. As far as I know, spare levers as a result of beimg taken ...

Printout
Yes, I fully agree that a printout would be a very helpful tool.

Crossing Loop
Further to my previous query, I also find that I can set signals for departure simultaneously at each end of either the main or loop roads. Is there a way I can prevent this? This may not be a problem with the prototype but with the model, I can potentially connect two cabs to the same block with co...

Problem interlocking crossing loop
I am working on signalling a crossing loop with an industrial lead off each end of the loop. The main and loop line are bi-directional lines. I also have included shunting signals to allow the railway modeller operating this crossing loop to shunt a train which will service the industries off the sh...
